Building Insulation Solutions
We offer 5 options for you to choose from:
Closed-Cell Spray Foam Insulation (1" or 2")
Sprayed directly onto metal panels, expanding to seal gaps and voids for excellent thermal performance and air sealing. Choose 2" for higher R-value and stronger moisture control, or 1" for moderate insulation and condensation control. See our video page for real installs.
2" Fiberglass Insulation
A blanket-style insulation placed between framing/panels. Provides good thermal resistance at a lower cost. Works best when kept dry and paired with a proper vapor or moisture barrier as needed.
Double Bubble Moisture Barrier
Polyethylene air bubbles with a metallized backing to interrupt radiant heat and help prevent moisture penetration. A great option to control condensation and reduce temperature swings when paired with ventilation.
Therma-Guard Moisture Barrier
A rigid barrier layer (fiberglass or foam-based) that helps manage moisture and temperature at the panel interface. Choose when you want a clean interior surface and targeted condensation control.
Note: Use primary insulation if a specific R-value target is required.
House Wrap Moisture Barrier
A weather-resistive barrier installed over panels or framing to limit air infiltration and manage incidental moisture. Often used with other insulations to improve comfort and reduce drafts.
Quick Comparison
| Option | Closed-Cell Spray Foam | 2" Fiberglass | Double Bubble | Therma-Guard | House Wrap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary Purpose | Thermal + Air/Moisture Seal | Thermal | Moisture/Radiant Barrier | Moisture Barrier (Rigid) | Air/Moisture Barrier |
| Approx. R-Value | R-7 (1") / R-14 (2") | R-6 | None | None (as barrier) | None |
| Best Use | All climates; max performance | Budget thermal upgrade | Condensation control assist | Clean barrier + moisture mgmt | Draft reduction + WRB layer |
| Maintenance | Low | Keep dry; inspect | Low | Low | Low |
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between 1" and 2" spray foam?
Pick based on climate and efficiency goals. 2" delivers roughly twice the R-value and stronger moisture control than 1".
Can spray foam be applied after my metal building is installed?
Yes. It can be added at any time and adheres directly to existing metal panels.
Do moisture barriers replace insulation?
No. Moisture barriers manage condensation and air infiltration but do not provide an R-value. Combine with thermal insulation if energy performance is a priority.
Will insulation change the inside appearance?
Spray foam leaves a coated look (can be covered with liner panels). Fiberglass and rigid barriers can be finished with interior sheathing for a clean look.
How long does installation take?
Most projects are completed in 1–2 days depending on building size and selected system.
