Pouring the concrete slab
Installing the slab for your new structure may seem complicated, but at Custom Built Structures, Inc. we want to make it simple and hassle-free by providing the information you need for a correct installation.
The flat portion of the slab should match the exact dimensions of the building frame; this ensures a proper fit and helps prevent water from entering beneath the base rail, which is not covered by the structure’s weather seal.
We recommend leaving a perimeter ledge—or a sheeting ledge (typically 3½” x 3½”)—which serves as a rodent guard and also protects the concrete edge from chipping or cracking when wedge anchors are used to secure the structure’s base rail.
